Everyone at some point in time has failed. Every business, every endeavor and every noble cause has experienced in some form or another, failure.
Recovery though, has been optional for some and for others non-negotiable. Those that have soared through setbacks, defeat and failure have made their mark. Excellence and diligence defines their steps, guiding them towards their goals.
Consistently they have continued, avoiding past mistakes and learning from new ones, carefully treading the paths of knowledge to seek out what works while trying to avoid failure. Regardless of how cautious they are, failure seems almost inevitable.
The difference is this: those who recover the quickest are those who first acknowledge their failure. They see failure and instead of being hard headed and living in denial, they acknowledge it. By doing so, they learn, they move past it, note it, recreate the steps that led to it and avoid doing the same thing next time.
“Failure is so important. We speak about success all the time. It is the ability to resist failure or use failure that often leads to greater success. I’ve met people who don’t want to try for fear of failing.” – J.K. Rowling
Whether building a business or advancing your career, always remember this: Failure does not define you, what may define you however, is what you do about it and how quickly you respond to it.
