Still Slow and Steady?

“You must continue to gain expertise, but avoid thinking like an expert.” – Denis Waitley

For ‘Today’, yesterday is past, gone, finished and in a lot of ways irrelevant as it concerns the future. What we do now in today is far more relevant that what was done yesterday.

It is ironic, how the word ‘experience’ is instinctively synonymous with time. Yet far from it, experience (in this context) – though involving time, means way more; it includes skills, “observation of facts or events” and putting that to use effectively. No longer is it a matter of ‘experience’ – as we have known it.

The phrase “years of experience”, though relevant in some areas of life and business is quickly becoming obsolete. Technology and increasing knowledge is changing the way we interact in business way faster and efficiently than ever anticipated.

Today’ highly innovative businesses think on their feet – not standing, but running. The quicker your business can come up with effective solutions to problems, the better its chances of succeeding.

The vast amount of documented knowledge available today did not exist a century ago and it keeps expanding. Any business determined to make its mark can do so now without having to put in the typical ‘years’ previously required to attain significance.

What you choose to do with knowledge and by what process you do it defines you, and this has a direct influence on your values, goals and achievements. Think about this and act ‘Today’.
